About Rats
Rats are larger than mice and can be even more destructive. In our region, the Norway rat (brown rat) is common, typically burrowing outside or nesting in crawlspaces and basements. Rats are strong chewers and can gnaw through wood, pipes, and even concrete over time. Signs of rats include larger droppings, gnaw marks, greasy rub marks along walls, and damaged goods. Like mice, rats pose health risks (they can transmit bacteria like salmonella and diseases) and should be addressed promptly. We use sturdy traps and secure bait stations to eliminate rats, and ensure any nesting areas are cleaned up.
Signs of Rats Infestation
Large droppings (about 3/4 inch), burrows near foundations, gnaw marks on wood or plastic, greasy rub marks along walls, footprints in dust, damaged food containers.
Treatment Methods
Our rat control program includes thorough property inspection, identification of entry points, installation of exclusion materials, strategic placement of traps and bait stations, and sanitation recommendations.
Prevention Tips
Keep food in chew-proof containers, eliminate water sources, clear debris from yard, seal gaps larger than 1/2 inch, ensure tight-fitting doors and windows, manage trash properly.
