About Bats
Bats are beneficial insect-eaters in nature, but when they roost in your attic or eaves, they become a pest problem. Common in Mid-Missouri are small brown bats that often form colonies in buildings. You might suspect bats if you hear squeaking or rustling in the attic at dusk, or find bat droppings (guano) piled up below roof joints or in the attic. It's important to handle bats carefully – they can carry rabies, and their guano can harbor mold spores (histoplasmosis risk). A1 Bugman specializes in professional bat removal. We use humane exclusion techniques, installing one-way doors that let bats exit but not re-enter. Once the bats are gone, we can seal entry points permanently. We even back our bat exclusion with a 10-year warranty, so you won't have to worry about re-infestation.
Signs of Bats Infestation
Squeaking or rustling sounds in attic (especially at dusk), bat droppings (guano) in attic or exterior walls, stains around entry points, sightings of bats entering/exiting around roof or eaves.
Treatment Methods
We use humane exclusion methods, installing special one-way doors that allow bats to exit but not re-enter. Once all bats have left, we permanently seal entry points and clean contaminated areas if necessary.
Prevention Tips
Seal potential entry points around roof, eaves, and vents, install chimney caps, repair damaged roof tiles or fascia boards, keep attic well-ventilated to make it less appealing to bats.
