About Spiders

Spiders are abundant in Missouri, and while most are harmless and even beneficial (by eating other insects), some can become indoor pests. Two notable venomous spiders in our region are the Brown Recluse and Black Widow. Brown Recluses often hide in closets, attics, or cardboard boxes and have a distinctive violin shape on their back; their bite can cause serious wounds. Black Widows are black with a red hourglass marking and tend to stay in garages or woodpiles; their bite is also dangerous. Even common house spiders can create unsightly cobwebs. A1 Bugman will identify the spider species and treat accordingly, removing webs and applying residual insecticides in corners, basements, and other spider-prone areas.

Signs of Spiders Infestation

Visible spiders, cobwebs in corners or ceilings, spider egg sacs, shed skins, increased presence of other insects (spider food source).

Treatment Methods

Our approach includes web removal, crack and crevice treatments, perimeter applications, and targeted treatments in areas where spiders are commonly found. We also address the insects they feed on.

Prevention Tips

Reduce clutter in storage areas, sweep away cobwebs regularly, seal cracks around windows and doors, use yellow "bug lights" outdoors (less attractive to insects that spiders hunt).
